This week (April 16-22) is National Volunteer Week! Join Ontario Sailing in celebrating and thanking the MANY volunteers who work tirelessly to keep sailing thriving at clubs, schools, and camps around the province.
All this week we will be celebrating volunteers on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). We are encouraging our followers to highlight the volunteers that work within their communities and tag Ontario Sailing so we can reshare your posts and amplify your message of gratitude! Use the campaign hashtags #NVW2023 #WeavingUsTogether as well to be part of the national conversation on social media.
The theme for this year’s National Volunteer Week is “Volunteering Weaves Us Together”. The theme encourages us to reflect on how individual volunteer efforts not only enrich the individual’s life, by contributing to their sense of belonging within the community, but also make the entire community stronger. From the Volunteer Canada website, “Like each individual thread makes weaving stronger, every volunteer’s experience, perspective, and abilities add to our collective resilience. Woven together from coast to coast to coast, volunteering reinforces our ability to grow, thrive, and create change within our community, province, and country.”

On behalf of the entire staff at Ontario Sailing, THANK YOU to our many volunteers across the province – board members, officials, parents, and countless others! Without your enthusiasm and tireless efforts, our sport wouldn’t be nearly as vibrant and successful as it is today. Your actions make an impact on your local sailing community that will be felt today, and into the future.
We are excited to celebrate YOU, the volunteers, this National Volunteer Week! Please join us in giving all our volunteers a standing ovation!
