Ontario Sailing Announces Team for 2017 Canada Summer Games

Ontario Sailing is proud to announce the following seven athletes selected to represent Team Ontario for the upcoming Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg. Sailing competition events are scheduled to take place between July 30 – August 4, 2017 on Lake Winnipeg at the Gimli Yacht Club.

We have assembled a team of the top athletes competing in their classes, from across Ontario and we are confident with the combination of our experience coaches and these emerging talents Ontario will be well represented at the Games. 

Team Ontario Sailing Athletes:

Clara Gravely – Laser Radial Female

Matti Muru – Laser Male

Chloe Congourdeau & Alex Birkenshaw – 29er Females

Galen Richardson & Walker Moffat – 29er Males

Aaron Wong-Sing – Para 2.4mR Male

We are excited to announce that Chris Hewson and Amelia Leeksma are the Provincial Sport Organization Coaching Representatives/Staff.

About the Canada Games

The Canada Games – a celebration of youth, sport, culture and community – is this country’s largest multi-sport competition with participation from every province and territory in Canada. The 2017 Canada Summer Games will be held July 28 to August 13 in Winnipeg, featuring 16 sports and will welcome over 4000 athletes, coaches, and managers. The Canada Games celebrates their 50th anniversary this year coinciding with Canada’s 150th birthday.
