Silvio Conte, Commodore, National Yacht Club in Toronto, is very pleased to announce the hiring of Meaghan Hawkins as the club’s new General Manager and Chief Operating Officer effective June 24. 

Meaghan joins National from Kitchener’s THEMUSEUM, an innovative institution, where she was Senior Director, Sales and Operations. THEMUSEUM, rated one of the Top 5 Museums in Ontario, is noted for its year round dynamic and unique events featuring celebrities like Rick Mercer and Margaret Atwood. In addition, she was responsible for corporate rentals and catering, weddings, and a year round Kids Camps program.

Meaghan managed all museum events and drove significant growth through unique and creative attractions. As a leader of a well-known public institution Meaghan is experienced in building effective relationships with key stakeholders; the public, members, patrons and government.

Meaghan returns to a career on the water having started her working life as Dock Supervisor at neighbouring Ontario Place Marina. She was promoted to Marina Administrative Supervisor responsible for all marina operations including haul out and went on to become Parks Director.

National Yacht Club, located on the city side in downtown Toronto, is a club rich in tradition celebrating its 130th anniversary next year.
