Ontario Sailing Career Opportunity – Provincial Laser Coach

Responsibilities: Working in harmony with the Development and Regional Training Centre Coach (OHPSI Lead Coach), the successful applicant shall be responsible for the overall direction, implementation and direct coaching support of the Laser program implementation for identified Provincial Athletes at the National Training Centre in Toronto.

Skills:  A professional career minded High Performance Sailing Coach. The coach should have Competition Development in the Sailing stream.

Ontario Sailing works with Microsoft Office and candidates should be comfortable and skilled in working with MS Word, Excel, Publisher and Access.

Looking for strong leadership and communication skills both on and off the water with athletes, coaches and members of Ontario Sailing.  Communication skills include, e-mail, verbal and written. Customer service is important as well as presentation skills and the ability to prepare effective reports for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, for the Ontario Trillium Foundation, for Ontario Sailing’s Board of Directors and for the Annual Report.

Work Environment:

Team Work: You will work with a team of coaches at the National Training Centre in Toronto included both National Team and Provincial Team Coaches. Travel will include Kingston, Florida and other locations as required to fulfil the duties of the position.

Physical Strength: There is the element of loading trailers and moving boats and equipment as part of this position. The position includes coaching in adverse conditions both in cold, wet and warm weather. The coach must be one that can make sure their athletes and themselves are considerate of the environment they find themselves in.

Hours: There is great flexibility in the workweek and time off in lieu of weekend work. The coach is required to balance their time so as to not carry more time than necessary from month to month

Salary: The salary range is based on experience, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
