Ontario Sailing has launched Ontario Sailing University taught by Thomas Fogh. You can book a day at your club delivered at your club during the winter.
Pricing for your own session at your club booked thru Ontario Sailing is $55 plus HST per person (minimum of ten people is needed in the GTA) for a morning and afternoon classroom session. Clubs can add to the price, charge for a lunch option and there will be books available to purchase during the day. (outside of GTA travel some travel costs to be added) (can be run in a day long or two evening format)
Outline for the day is as follows:
Start and Race Strategy
This part of the seminar will focus on ways to prepare for a start and strategies around the race course. For starts, we will look at how to prepare and making a game plan. We will also look at crew roles and three main parts to the start. Race strategy will look at both upwind and downwind concepts to better understand a race course.
Sail Controls and Sail Shape
This part of the seminar will look at all the different aspects that affect a mast and sail. Then we will look at how we can use these different aspects to affect our sails and tuning.
