When Ontario Sailing gathered feedback for our 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, a common theme emerged focusing on the state of sailing in the province and the desire to collect more and better data to truly understand the trends affecting our sport.

In response, Ontario Sailing has been working to gather more comprehensive data, including gathering data from our member organizations in such areas as: numer of slips, number of boats, and fiscal health.  This information will allow us to create better resouces to support the econimic impact that sailing has in a community.

Ontario Sailing is thrilled to announce a partnership with the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) to expand a previously-planned industry survey.  On behalf of NMMA and sailing in Canada, The Portage Group will be launching a survey starting November 14th, 2022.  The Portage Group will reach out to our member clubs directly with specific sailing-related questions.

We ask that you please help us better serve you by gathering and providing the requested information to NMMA.  None of your club-specific information will be shared; The Portage Group is a professional organization and will only share the compiled data with identified survey partners.

Once available, Ontario Sailing will make relevant information on trends and their impact available to our member organizations to use in building your relationships with stakeholders and in developing your future strategic plans.

If you have any questions regardering the survey or the survey process, please connect with Lisa Roddie, COAST Manager.
